Meet Our Team
Low Tide Lodge grew from a shared passion for saltwater angling and a love of Belize by three friends that work in the fly fishing and travel industry.
We've been traveling here for years, starting with hosted trips and eventually bringing our families to share in on the fun. The area has so much to do and see, that we kept coming back year after year.
With decades of experience running our own guide operations and hosting fly fishing experiences around the world, Belize has always stood out. In 2025 we teamed up to create Low Tide Lodge and put all of our experience toward providing versatile accommodations on a world-class fishery and recreation paradise.

Justin Carr
I’m a seasoned fly-fishing guide with 15 years of professional guiding experience, and 20 years in the Vail area. My passion for the sport has taken me on expeditions across North America, from Alaska to the Caribbean, where I’ve honed my expertise in both freshwater and saltwater environments. I'm a proud father and husband and love everything Belize has to offer for my family.
Ryan Herbert
Loves life, his wife,family, & friends. Always loving & learning from people. This father of four boys has been guiding in the industry since 02' From Alaska to Florida.Truly passionate about teaching the arts of fly fishing in both freshwater & Salt. It’s all about the progression, growth & being on the water gaining the experiences. Ryan loves his job.
Dan Hein
Fly fishing has been a lifelong passion that’s taken me across the United States, the Caribbean, and the waters of Belize in pursuit of permit, tarpon and bonefish. I spent several years guiding in North Park, Colorado where I lived my dream sharing the sport with others and made lifelong friends. Being able to experience this with the love of my life and our three kids is truly a dream come true.
